Guidelines : Blocks due August 5, 2008
  1. TYPE OF BLOCK: Blocks can be pieced, appliquéd or paper pieced (not machine embroidered).  Use your imagination!!! Appliqué must be securely stitched down, either by hand or machine. No open edges will be accepted. Embellishments must be securely fastened (please DO NOT glue on eyes, etc.). No paint pens. No invisible thread!
  2. FABRICS: Use only good quality, 100% cotton fabrics. If I suspect the content of your fabric, I will test it. If I can watch TV through your block, it will be returned. (joking here, but you get the idea)
  3. SIZE: Blocks may be square or rectangular, with each side a minimum of 10 inches and a maximum of 15 inches (finished sizes). You will get back a mix of sizes to make a fun sampler quilt!
  4. NUMBER OF BLOCKS: You may send up to 20 blocks, with no more than 5 being the same. This means your blocks may all be different... Or you can make different sets of 5. Blocks will be swapped one for one, so if you only make 3 blocks, but still wish to participate -- by all means -- send them in and join the fun!!
  5. SIGNUP: Please join by emailing  Sindy . I will then email you my address to send your blocks to.
  6. MAILING: Please label each individual block with your name, email address, and your city/state. Use a safety pin, basting stitch, or self-adhesive labels to attach to your blocks. Please do not use straight pins (ouch!) and please DO NOT write on your blocks.
  7. POSTAGE: Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your blocks. Your return envelope should be the same size and have the same amount of postage as the envelope you used to mail your blocks to me. Please write on the lower left front of your envelope the number of blocks you are including This becomes a big help during the swapping process. Stamps Only, please!!! Do not use metered mail stickers for your return mail. They are only valid for the day they are issued! US priority mail envelopes are preferred and are free of charge at your local post office. Do make sure you have adequate postage. Swapped blocks will not be returned without a self-addressed envelope with the correct postage on it, so please be thorough in your packaging efforts.

I reserve the right to return unswapped any blocks unsuitable for swapping.
